Field trip and seminars are a big help for students especially when it is connected to your course. Field trips wherein students would be able to have educational tour can boost up their knowledge and connection to their taken field. There might have been instances recently involving accidents in their School Field trips. However, this trip isn’t only touring around the country for beautiful places and all that but this trip is school related. It aims to give us more, more knowledge, learning, exposure and understanding to our chosen course.

My preferred Field trip and seminars model is Model A. After reading through and understanding every model the most preferable option is the Model A. However, in the other Models most activities involve the local in whom we are already exposed to. Within the Model a, One Major Field trip outside Mindanao, One Minor Field Trip within Mindanao, One National Seminar and 2hrs Interpersonal Skills. This set of activities has more to it than just a simple field trip.

One Minor Field Trip only in Mindanao is one of the cited activities for the Model A. Since, it involves one minor field trip here in Mindanao I find it appropriate having in mind that our school is already located in the heart of the advanced city in Mindanao. Davao at the present is working its way in the ICT Industry which is why one minor field trip in Mindanao is great. Also when you look unto a specific model which only centers in the tour only in Mindanao it wouldn’t be the most favorable option. Us, who has lived in Davao City which is now considered as one of the booming cities in the ICT Industry won’t be able to find more. The fast upgrade in the ICT Industry should always be part in the consideration for the choosing of a model because our field isn’t slow in its upgrades, day-by-day there are new innovations and ideas produced by the known companies all over the country or even in the world.

The 2hrs Interpersonal skill is also mentioned in Model A. Also, the 2hrs interpersonal skill is suitable for the students to build up the trust within the group. It will also be helpful for the students so that they will be able to interact with their co-students which will lead to each of them being friends. Being able to build up closeness within the group will lessen the awkwardness of the atmosphere between the students may it be Information Technology students or Computer Science students. This will also benefit the students thinking that each will spend 5 days together in learning. There will be friendly interaction with each and everyone, learning will also be fun because the more you knew within the group the more the merrier.

One National Seminar is also part of the package for Model A. This national seminar will give a good benefit for the students because you can find good speakers in these kinds of seminars. Also, participating in national seminars students can find new learning’s knowing that students will be involved in a vast environment. This will also be good for the students since there will be a lot of participants all over the Philippines then will know about more of the ICT Industry not only in Davao. There will also be a large number of students and professionals that will be participating in the national seminar. There will be a chance of interaction between everyone since the goal of the tour is to learn then, this will be one of those great chances where we will be able to learn how to interact with different kinds of people.

The Major Field Trip which will be outside Mindanao is also part of the Model A. As I view it having the Major Field trip outside Mindanao will help us expand horizons. This will help us into gaining new knowledge in the ICT Industry since Davao isn’t the most advanced, having the major field trip will fill in these gaps. We will also be able to tour around companies which operates advanced technology. This will also expose us to the fast rising ICT Industry in the country. Having the major field trip outside Mindanao might cost a lot but the learning and the experience will be very great. Being able to explore in the other parts of our country and also having toured in different companies will boost our understanding as to how the ICT Industry is working its way till it reaches the top. ICT companies will also be able to help us since these companies are leading the country’s economy. The new innovations and ideas that are developed by these companies will be right in front of our eyes knowing that we will be able to have educational tour within.

The activities in Model A can give us great opportunities; we will be exposed in the ICT Companies which will also be for our benefit given that these Companies are known in this field. We will have more back-up information that might help our credentials in the future. This model might cause a lot but in exchange it will also be for the better of our future work. You can’t take the fact that part of going outside Mindanao will also be saying that we can have a little leisure time after the company visits, because fun should also be part of learning. The more fun, all the more we get the motivation to look forward for new learning’s and explorations. Everyone should have their break for the time taken into learning, since having these breaks will help each and everyone one of us to appreciate what we have done for the day. The learning, experience, fun, interaction and exposure will be the best and the greatest gain we will ever have in participating in this field trip and seminars. Everything will work out fine and the efforts done will have its fruits in the future.
